Edwin Fontánez’s debut novel The Illuminated Forest has been designated a Finalist in the category “Best Young Adult Fiction Book – English” for the International Latino Book Awards. Presented by Latino Literacy Now, an organization co-founded by Edward James Olmos and Kirk Whisler, and co-presented by Las Comadres de las Americas, and Reforma, the National Association to Promote Library and Information Services to Latinos, the ILBA 2015 recipients include Carlos Santana, Sheila E, Richard Blanco, Isabel Allende, and many others. Over the last 16 years, the ILBA has grown to become the largest Latino literary and cultural awards in the U.S.
